About How does 21 year license renewal work when you're switching states

How does 21 year license renewal work when you're switching states?
Ok so I have been a resident of Montana all of my life...but I will be moving to Anchorage, AK like two weeks before my 21st birthday. What do I need to do to make sure I can party it up LEGALLY once I've moved. I'm not sure whether this move is long-term but is looking like it will be at least two years, so I'm not sure which state to renew it in.

Answer 1 :
if you are still in Montana when it is due for renewal then you renew there and when you move you have a short period of time, in some places up to 3 months to change your licence over to the new state. you just go to the motor registration (or whatever it is in the new place) and tell them you wish to change your licence over. you may get a refund from Montana but i am not sure, and you should be issued with a new licence in the new residential state. it would be wise to check with the Montana authorities when you go for renewal and they may be able to advise you the best way to go and whether you would be entitled to a refund. if you want to know without going to the office then ring them

About What is there to do in Anchorage, Alaska

What is there to do in Anchorage, Alaska?
I am in the Air Force Reserve and headed to Anchorage, AK soon. What is there to do up there? I like taking pictures (I work for a newspaper as a civilian). I will only be there for two weeks and won't be able to travel more than 150 miles from Elmendorf AFB.

If you like fishing salmon season starts in April i thing go to kenai on kenai river..Lot's of fun...
Answer 2 :
well if you like to fish there are some good red saukeye guides around
Answer 3 :
I would head to Eklutna,,,,It is about 15 miles north of Anchorage towards wasilla. It is an old Russian cemetery that has Spirit houses.Only about half of a mile off the interstate, Also South of Anchorage is very pretty...I would try to avoid Anchorage itself.
Answer 4 :
Well, if you are going to visit soon, it is still going to be winter conditions. A little after that, will be break up season, which I think, is the ugliest time of year to visit. No real salmon fishing this time of year to speak of. A guy mentioned before about Kenai, which is wonderful in the summer and great fishing, but is about a 4.5 hour drive without traffic and might not be the best place to visit in March/April. As far as pictures, you could always head toward Alyeska, the route is very scenic and would offer several pull offs with great photo opportunites. There are waterfalls alongside the road and a lot of the time, wildlife as well. You could also try heading North towards the Valley. I would check out Hatcher's Pass. You can drive up quite a ways and take beautiful pictures looking down at the Matanuska Valley/Rivers . Something to keep in mind, is that this is Alaska and it still gets dark a whole lost sooner than the Lower 48. You don't want to drive all the way out to these places and find that it's 4 in the afternoon and dark out. Kind of ruins the picture. Both Alyeska and the Valley are less than 150 mi. from the AFB. Alyeska is probably an hour drive outside Anch. and the Valley is a quick 45 min. to Palmer, then maybe another 30 or so to get up Hatchers. Both are well worth it! As far as Anchorage goes, I'm not a huge fan. Lived in Alaska for 26 years and never really go unless I have to. I know a lot of people enjoy going to Koot's (If you want to go out). I'm sure if you ask anyone where to go out, especially if you are not from around here, they will tell you to check out Chilkoot Charlies. It is worth checking out. Anyways, hope that this helps... If you ever get the chance to come back up, come during the summer. There is so much more to do... millions of possibilities. Good Luck and enjoy our beautiful State

Answer 1 :
you need to do the gary 23 glich. look on the fallout 3 wikipedia for more info
Answer 2 :
I don't get why it matters? You do not get to keep anything when you exit the simulation. One trick I know is you can get all the different weapons. Just get one package and get ammo. Then go get the slip for another weapon package. Before talking to the guy who gives you the weapon, drop the weapons from the other package. After getting the new weapons, go pick up the weapons you dropped. Now you have two packages. Just do not talk to the guy or he will take your weapons away. Also to get more ammo, just drop the ammo and grab some more ammo from the ammo supply thing. Just keep getting more and dropping it. Then pick up all the ammo you dropped and you will have way more ammo. You can get almost an infinite amount if you want

About Long distance relationships can work, right

Long distance relationships can work, right?
I recently met the most amazing man but I live in Anchorage, Alaska and he lives in Fairbanks, Alaska. Its around 400 miles and a 6 hour drive in good weather, but it just feels like he is my prince charming! and he travels here frequently for work and play already.... any suggestions for me?
Singles & Dating - 6 Answers
People's Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
Answer 1 :
Wrong. Don't waste your time and his.
Answer 2 :
Long distance relationships work if both parties put effort into it. He travels to see you so he obviously cares for you as well. So hold onto to him and see how it goes. Try to make visits to him as well so he doesn't feel like he's doing all the work.
Answer 3 :
of course it can work.
Answer 4 :
Yes, and I think with new technology (Video Skype, etc) even more so these day, if not texting. However you need to go beyond that with the newest tech: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Teledildonics
Answer 5 :
yeah it can work,,,u just have to have a lot of Trust to make it work in my opinion.
Answer 6 :
Okay, well if he's traveling to Anchorage frequently you're already off to a good start. The hardest part can be working a visit schedule. Long distance relationships are hard, but they can also be a lot of fun. Make sure to trust each other and always assume that the other person is acting in good faith. In a long distance relationship, if you freak out every time the other person doesn't answer their phone, you're not going to last for long. But if something serious is bothering you, don't hold it inside. This is good advice for any relationship, but in LDRs there can easily be a tendency to suppress feelings and table sharing them until you can see each other in person. If you bottle things up like that, it is bound to explode at some point. If you don't have webcams, get some and sign up for a free video chat site (http://www.6rounds.com/ is a pretty good one). Talking and texting can be expensive and can lead to more miscommunications than a face-to-face convo. Plus, it's more intimate.

About How much work can you get as a substitute teacher

How much work can you get as a substitute teacher?
I am thinking of doing subbing in Anchorage Alaska. I have known several people here who say there is no shortage of work. Does anyone have any experience with subbing and how steady the work is? Also how long are the days, are they usually all day covering all the periods ) or are they often just for one period? They pay is good here, and I would appreciate the flexibility since I am a grad student.
Teaching - 5 Answers
People's Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
Answer 1 :
It depends on how many subs are available on call and the number of assignments available. Sometimes you'd have to be available on a moment's notice. You would usually have to stay the whole school day unless there are extenuating circumstances, like the regular teacher had to leave school in the middle of the day on an emergency. Or you might be needed just for the morning classes. But those circumstances are rare. 97 percent of the time you'll work the whole school day.
Answer 2 :
My wife did substitute teaching when our son was young so she could be available to stay home with him if he got sick (or if she was sick or needed to do something else rather than work). It worked out great! She always got up and dressed as if she had to be at work by 7am. She got calls almost daily, and I think part of the reason was because word got around that she was always there shortly after she was called. She filled in several times with advance notice, but most of the time it was a last minite thing - often it was because of a teacher who woke up feeling sick or having something happen in the morning. The best part about it was being able to say "I am not available, today, but call again" if she got a call on a day that she couldn't work. (One trick is to never give the reason you aren't available and they'll always think you have already been taken by another school.) Good luck!
Answer 3 :
Where I live, in northern California, subs get virtually as much work as they want. In our district, subs are called either for a half day or a full day. A good sub (which in many instances just means that no extreme chaos ensues) gets lots of recommendations, and we are allowed to request "preferred subs." I have no experience with Alaska, but I am willing to bet that the basics (i.e., a good sub gets lots of work) are the same anywhere.
Answer 4 :
I work in a pretty 'rough' district in NY, and we are always looking for subs. We need 'good' subs, b/c most people can't handle our kids. Generally, they're there all day, even if they're only called in for half a day- there's always something that comes up. I've never heard of a sub coming in for one period- in that case, another teacher would cover for the ill one. Sometimes, it takes going into the school and shaking the principal's hand to get in the door. HR in my district moves like hiring isn't important. Great tip Bud
Answer 5 :
I am retired teacher. I subbed in NY before teaching full time for 30 years and am now subbing in MD, I could work almost every day. I only want to work a couple days a week. The pay is nt that good. When I started subbing in 1970, the pay was $32 a day, and when I strarted full time I got $6400 a year which is the 200 days of the school calendar times the $32. Now I am makng $90 a day subbing. But I retired at $52000/yr. Subbing is good for flexibility. Rarely do you go in for les than a day. Sometimes for a half day. day is generally from between7 and 8 to around 3. Usually you can give your class schedule to the person who calls subs so they know when you are available

Hey going to alaska for a few weeks and would like a prepaid phone to use. Mine will not work ( Tmobile) and to my knowledge "Dobson" wireless is the only cell company up there. Can someone direct me where to go to get a prepaid phone that will work near anchorage?

Tracfone works in the Anchorage area
Answer 2 :
Tracfone works. Also, you can get a GO phone from ATT. Dobson sold out to AT&T a few years ago. If your TMobile phone (or another spare phone you have) takes a gsm card, you may even be able to have ATT put their GO card in your phone before you leave home. Otherwise, they have package deals which include a free phone

About From Washington to Anchorage, Alaska

From Washington to Anchorage, Alaska?
My husband is going to anchorage for work for 1-2 months! I want to go but we have a couple of little dogs- we cant fly them as in cabin because they are noisy in crates, we dont trust air cargo flying ( too cold for igs in the winter) My husband won't let me drive from wa to alaska unless I prove that the roads aren't as bad as he thinks. I could take a ferry but I read that the only scheduled ones are from bellingham to ketchikan (which if my final destination is to anchorage from ketchikan, it would still be about 2200 miles) Unless I am missing something with ferry routes or theres another ferry line- or i prove that the roads arent so bad I can't go. Thanks for any info. also, IF the roads MUST be traveled w/ a truck or can it be done with a car, if need be I can rent a truck for travel.
Seattle - 1 Answers

Answer 1 :
I've never heard of anyone attempting to drive that route in the winter. And if you get stuck in a snow bank somewhere, you would be endangering the dogs lives as well as your own. I'm the world's biggest pet lover and I know how important they are to you==but if you're only going for 1-2 months, why don't you just leave them behind with a pet sitter (someone who will stay at your house or will take them to live at theirs). Or board them at a cageless facility where they have the run of a house and a fenced yard. It's quite easy to find pet sitters and boarding facilities that are licensed, insured, and bonded--and cageless is all the rage these days
